Njoro residents living in fear after lions escaped from Lake Nakuru

Residents of Njoro are living in fear of being attacked by wild animals that escaped from the neighbouring Lake Nakuru Game Park.

Marauding lions from the reserve killed two cows  at Subuku and Ngata villages in Paive on Thursday and Friday respectively.

“A lioness entered my homestead and attacked one cow.

“I got out of my house only to find the lioness pulling the cow and that was when I threw a panga and it escaped.” One of the owners of the cow said.

The residents claim that the Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) has not taken action despite the two incidents.

They added that it is now hard for them to harvest maize in their farms in fear of lions that may be hiding in the plantation.
