Njuri Ncheke elders threaten curse over court case

The Njuri Ncheke Supreme Council of Elders as given one week notice to petitioners of the miraa taskforce case in court to withdraw the case or else they will face a curse from the council.

According to the council’s chair, Linus Kathera, the petitioners will also face the wrath of the people if they don’t withdraw the case.

The notice comes barely a week after the petitioners were summoned by the council at the Njuri Ncheke shrines at Nchiru headquarters but they defied the summons.

Miraa taskforce was gazetted to look for possible solutions to problems affecting the crop in overseas markets and provide additional crops to farmers in the miraa growing regions.

The petitioners alleged that the committee that was selected by MPs they lacked faith with, claiming that they could not be trusted with public funds.
