Nkaissery accuses Raila of lying about Ntimamas political stand

Interior Cabinet Secretary, Major Gen. (Rtd.) Joseph Nkaissery has hit out at ODM leader Raila Odinga over his speech at the funeral of former Cabinet Minister William Ole Ntimama.

Speaking in Kajiado on Tuesday, September 20, Nkaissery accused Raila of lying to the public by claiming that Ntimama supported ODM despite openly declaring support for Jubilee.

“I respected Raila Odinga and gave him time to address mourners at the funeral, but he instead used the opportunity to lie about Ntimama’s support,” he said.

“It is wrong for a person who is interested in wanting to be the President of Kenya to lie that Ntimama had called him when we all know that his heart was in Jubilee.”

He noted that Raila’s utterances were aimed at winning over the support of the Maasai community saying it was wrong for him to use a funeral to seek political popularity.

Raila claimed that Ntimama had called him after he led a section of leaders from the Maasai community to a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House, Nairobi.

The CORD leader claimed that despite publicly showing affiliation with Jubilee, the late Ntimama support for ODM, which took him to Parliament in 2007, was unwavering.

He further noted that his relationship with Ntimama dates back to the Labour Party of Kenya (LPK) days where they both were members.

On Tuesday, a section of Maasai elders also condemned Raila over the utterances threatening to curse him for lying to the country on Ntimama’s political stand.
