Nkaissery Bans Sirens On Unauthorized Vehicles

Nkaiserry’s directive follows complaints by the public over an increase in the number of road bullies who have been using sirens and strobe lights to drive motorists off the roads.

Through a press statement, Nkaissery directed the inspector general of police to impound vehicles bearing and using emergency protocols unlawfully.

The law only provides for the fitting of sirens and strobe light on vehicles attached to the President, Deputy President and the police.

The same extends to emergency vehicles like ambulances and fire engines.
