Nkaissery Dismisses Referendum Calls By CORD

Nkaissery was speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony for a new girls' boarding high school at Letoire PCEA church in his constituency on Thursday.

The legislator blamed the opposition for pushing for a referendum and termed it untimely and a waste of time.

He further pointed out that Kenya was a democratic country and that there were winners and losers in every election.

The Kajiado Central MP skipped the Monday Saba Saba rally at Uhuru Park and instead opted to join other county leaders to inspect water projects saying that it is important that the opposition puts the government on its toes and not seek dialogue with it.

The MP asked his colleagues in the opposition to give the government time to work.

He also said that as an ODM MP he was satisfied by last year’s elections results.

This comes at time when CORD leader Raila Odinga insists that CORD  will not be stopped in its quest for a referendum which is among thirteen resolutions it endorsed during the Monday’s Saba Saba Rally.
