Nkaissery orders security teams to be alert during Jubilee primaries

Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery has ordered county commissioners and security agencies to stay alert to combat incidences of violence during the forthcoming Jubilee Party primaries scheduled for Friday, April 21.

Nkaissery lamented the chaos so far witnessed in the ongoing ODM Party primaries in various parts of the country saying a repeat of the same during Jubilee’s exercise would be unfortunate.

“I have directed county commissioners and county police bosses to vigilant and take immediate actions against persons perpetrating violence. I would also like to urge Jubilee supporters to conduct peaceful campaigns,” the CS said.

He warned aspirants against inciting violence saying he would appeal to the electoral commission for the disqualification of candidates culpable of breaching peace.

“Once we get concrete evidence we will recommend to IEBC that persons involved in violence to be barred from the August polls,” he said.

Nkaissery was speaking while drumming up support for the government Kajiado County.

He asked the Maasai Community to apply ‘suit voting policy’ by choosing all Jubilee candidates from the president to Members of the County Assembly (MCA).

“Vote all Jubilee candidates because the Maasai people have seen development during the Jubilee era,” said Nkaissery.
