Nkaissery represented true leadership spirit  Moi, NASA leaders say

Opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders led by their presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, and his running mate, Kalonzo Musyoka, have eulogized the late Interior Cabinet Secretary, Major Gen. (Rtd.) Joseph Nkaissery, as a man who stood for his principals.

While calling for speedy investigations into the late Nkaissery’s death, Kalonzo termed the late CS as a diligent man who, despite the several confrontations with NASA during protests, was just fulfilling his mandate.

“His sense of commitment to his duty was outstanding and we will miss him dearly,” said Kalonzo.

At the same time, Retired President Daniel Arap Moi, has sent his message of condolence to President Uhuru Kenyatta, his family, people of Kenya and Maasai community at large.

In his message, the former President said that he learnt of the death of Nkaissery with shock and disbelief.

Moi described Nkaissery as a man who served this country with exceptional energy and dedication adding that the hand of death has robbed the country one of her most illustrious sons.

The Council of Governors has also eulogized Nkaissery as a leader who stamped his authority on the security docket restoring the faith of Kenyans in the ability of the State to protect them against such attacks.

In a statement, the Governors noted that the late General will be remembered for his uncompromising stand on matters of security, having inherited the docket at the height of Al Shabaab Militia attacks in the country.

“We share in the great loss of a great, selfless and dedicated leader and may our prayers serve as comfort during this trying time,” read the statement signed by COG chairman, Josephat Nanok.
