Nkaissery vows to ‘convert’ Kajiado to a Jubilee zone

Interior Cabinet Secretary Major Gen. (Rtd.) Joseph Nkaissery now says he will lead campaign for Jubilee party in Kajiado County ahead of next year’s General Elections. Nkaissery, however, is not the first Cabinet Secretary to meddle into politics as the election fever catches on.

Attending a graduation party for one of the Kajiado gubernatorial hopefuls in Kajiado West constituency, Nkaissery said he would champion Jubilee party campaigns in the area.

The Interior CS, previously an ODM MP before being appointed a Cabinet Secretary, joins his Water and Irrigations counterpart Eugene Wamalwa, who on Sunday gave the strongest indication that he would be vying for the Nairobi Gubernatorial position.

Tutakuwa humu humu kuhakikisha Jubilee imechukuwa Nairobi. Loosely translated as; We will do everything possible to ensure as Jubilee, we win the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat,” Wamalwa was quoted as saying Sunday.

While there is no law stopping Cabinet Secretaries from engaging in politics, using state resources in this course is prohibited and Cabinet Secretaries going into the elections are catching the fever.

Meanwhile, TNA nominated Senator Paul Njoroge has once again called out on Deputy President William Ruto accusing him of betraying Jubilee party ideals.

“We cannot purport to be working towards bringing communities together yet some of our leaders including Deputy President is busy demeaning them. Case in point is when he was in South Rift and said Gideon Moi is loitering with some Luhyas,” said the Senator.

Njoroge, a close ally of Moi, is on record saying that Ruto’s 2022 campaign is premature, arguing that Central Kenya will not automatically support him then.
