Nkaissery warns public against attacking administrators

Interior Cabinet Secretary Major Gen. (Rtd.) Joseph Nkaissery has warned members of the public against attacking administrators on duty, saying anyone found culpable will be arrested and prosecuted.

This comes after Nkaissery directed Laikipia County Commissioner Apollo Okello to ensure that suspected thugs who attacked a chief on duty be arrested immediately.

The CS urged all local administrators to continue working hard, saying the government will support them in dealing with issues affecting the society.

He also dismissed the recent report by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission that placed the Interior Ministry as the most corrupt, saying it was baseless and misleading.

Nkaissery was speaking in Maili Tisa Town in  Kajiado County during a burial ceremony.

On Wednesday, chiefs and their assistants in Nyahururu Sub County asked the government to enhance their security in the fight against illicit brew.

The administrators claim that the intensification of the war against illegal brews, especially in the rural areas, has made them targets for attacks by suspected brewers.
