No public hearing in presidential ballot papers re-tendering – IEBC
The Independent and Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has dismissed a public hearing on tendering of presidential ballot papers scheduled for July 12, 2017.
The public gathering was meant to qualify IEBC to ‘legally’ re-tender the procurement of presidential ballot papers.
However, the independent commission has opted for a rather distant alternative of allowing public participation through written memoranda and emails.
Speaking to Radio Citizen, IEBC Communication Director, Andrew Limo, said that due to time constraints, it will be easier to get public feedback through emails and memos.
With 27 days remaining to the General Election, IEBC is expected to give the Ksh 90 million tender to an incontrovertible firm that will, mostly, appease NASA.
