Nobody owns Jubilee Party – DP Ruto

Deputy President William Ruto has refuted claims that some individuals in the Jubilee Party are more superior to others.

Speaking at ACK Church Kakamega Town on his second day of his Kakamega tour on Sunday, Ruto said everyone left their parties to join Jubilee, adding that talks of a select clique with high stakes in the party are misplaced.

“The people who will decide who will get Jubilee ticket are the party supporters. When the elections have been announced all seats will de declared vacant and everyone given the chance to face off in the nominations,” he said.

Ruto called on the people of Kakamega to support Jubilee saying they are better placed to improve the lives of Kenyans.

He noted that they would not relent in their push to win over the Western region ahead of the 2017 General Election, saying as an all-inclusive party Jubilee is interested in bringing everyone from every region on board.

Ruto applauded the church for their role in the resolution of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) stalemate between Jubilee and CORD.

He said new IEBC commissioners will be in place in time to ensure the smooth planning and execution of the 2017 General Election.

He called on leaders to allow Kenyans to decide the leaders they want based on their manifestos and what they have delivered so far.

“There are some people who feel that I have made many trips to Western. They should know that I am your neighbour and can therefore visit anytime I wish,” he said.

The meeting was attended by among others Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka, Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali, Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe, Ikolomani MP Bernard Shinali and Malava MP Malulu Injendi.

In his speech, Governor Lusaka defended his move from New Ford Kenya to Jubilee saying that is where development will be realized.

Malulu accused Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi of abandoning them in United Democratic Forum (UDF) after he formed ANC.

He told off CORD leaders over talks that they (defectors) would not win reelection after joining Jubilee saying it is upon the people to decide.

Wangwe and Shinali reaffirmed their stand in Jubilee saying they would not be deterred by detractors who are out to deter their political ambitions.

Ruto also attended an interdenominational Sunday service at Kaplelmet School ground, Nandi Hills Constituency, Nandi County where the urged locals to leave in peace and unity ahead of the next elections.
