Nominated Senator Joy Gwendos suspension reversed

The National Alliance (TNA) is now considering reversing the suspension of nominated Senator Joy Gwedo, imposed by the party’s Disciplinary Committee.

The party’s Secretary General Onyango Oloo said that the committee made a mistake to suspend Gwendo over claims of gross misconduct saying that the evidence provided against her is not enough to kick her out.

Oloo said that the party’s National Oversight Board will meet in due course to reverse the move.

Gwendo was suspended last week over allegations of gross misconduct and disrespectful to the TNA Kisumu branch.

Both Oloo and TNA chair Johnson Sakaja have come out to distance themselves from the ruling saying there should be a keen review of the ruling.

The expulsion would have seen Gwendo lose her seat, with the party free to pick a different candidate to fill the slot, owing to her status as a nominated senator.
