NOT my WIFE! Muthama distances himself from Kavindu
Following highly publicised reports of his ‘estranged wife’ running for an elective post on a Jubilee ticket in his county, Opposition-affiliated legislator Johnstone Muthama has come out to clear the air about his relationship with Agnes Kavindu.
The Machakos Senator distanced himself Kavindu, saying that he parted ways with the Women Representative hopeful in 1983.
Categorically stating that he is not in any way liked to Kavindu, Muthama said that he and Kavindu are officially divorced.
Though the two had already split, Muthama said he continued to look after her financially because she is the mother of some of his children.
Underscoring that he and Kavindu had no relationship whatsoever, the Opposition wheeler dealer stated that – should Kavindu pass away – she would not be buried on his property because they have cut all ties.
The estranged couple made headlines October 2014 when Kavindu accused Muthama of harassment, saying Muthama had cut off basic utilities at their Mua Hills home, forcing her to live in inhumane conditions.
Earlier this week, Ms Kavindu was among several aspirants in Machakos who received Jubilee Party nomination certificates to contest in the August 8 poll.
She and will now battle it out with Wiper Party’s Susan Musyoka for the Machakos woman representative seat.
