The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and Kenya National Highway Authority (KNHA) has listed 12 roads that should be avoided during the ongoing rainy season

In a statement to media, the transport body said the current torrential rainfall in the country pose safety risks to road users due to the resultant unfavourable road conditions.

“The Authorities further urge motorists not to risk their lives by attempting to cross flooded areas unless advised by the traffic police and the road agencies,” read the statement in part.

“The Authority in conjunction with the Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) and the traffic police department are monitoring traffic flow and areas that could pose danger.”

Among the roads that feature in the list include Langata Road (T-Mall), Muhoho Road/Popo Road Junction, Muhoho Road at Ngong River crossing, Lusaka Road and Baricho Road both at Anti-malaria drain crossing, Jogoo Road near Makadara Law Courts, James Gichuru Road at Olenguruone Junction and near Convent drive junction.
