Flood Updates: Nurse killed after ambulance was swept by floods

A middle-aged man was killed after he was swept away by River Buathinaro at Nguyuyu location in Igembe Central Sub-County.

According to area Chief David Mutua, the body of the deceased was found floating on the water Saturday morning with bruises on the head, arms and at the back.

He suspected that the deceased was hit by rocks when he was swept by the river adding that there are possibilities that he was carried from the upper regions of Kiengu zone.

Last week, a seven-year old child was found dead after he was carried by the same river at Kiengu.

Mutua added that the deceased had not been identified saying police are in the process of identifying the body.

In Laikipia County, a driver and nurse have been reported dead after the ambulance they were traveling in was washed away by floods at Daraja ya Mungu in Doldol Laikipia County.
