Nurses Association protests as KNH nurses are charged with murder

The Kenya Nurses Union (KNU) and the Kenya Progressive Nurses Association (KPNA) have criticised the arrest of two nurses from the Kenyatta National Hospital following the death of a patient at the facility 11 months ago.

The unions say National Assembly’s Health Committee is to blame for the nurses’ woes, saying members of the committee have politicised the matter.

She further questions why no one else has been arrested, despite the fact that there were nutritionists, clinicians and security personnel but only the nurses were arrested.

The death of 40 year old Cosmas Mutungi shocked the nation after he was found brutally murdered in a ward at Kenyatta National Hospital.

The deceased was found stabbed several times with a knife and one of his eyes gauged out.
