Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama is dead

Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has died at the Nairobi Hospital where he had been admitted, his family has confirmed.

He was admitted to hospital three weeks ago and had been undergoing treatment.

He was aged 74.

According to a family member  who spoke to the media, the governor succumbed to COVID-19 complications at around 4.a.m on Friday.

He had earlier in the week been placed on life support after his condition worsened.
