Nyandarua MCAs Oppose Referendum

The county representatives said the calls for a referendum were uncalled for and they were meant to destabilize to the Jubilee government.

Chairman of the Nyandarua MCAs Mwangi Kagwe said that the MCAs were in support of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration especially in service delivery.

Speaking at a public forum in Ndaragwa town Kagwe said governors were not being sincere with their demands.

He added that governors needed to be accountable for what they have done with the money they got from treasury before asking for more.

Kagwe said that the county assemblies have passed the counties Integrated Development Plans which outline the priorities of every region.

He at the same time challenged the governor for Nyandarua Daniel Waithaka to address the issue of location facing Nyahururu town which has been under controversy.

He said the town is being contested between Nyandarua and Laikipia County over its location owing to the fact that it served as administrative headquarters for Nyandarua whereas its boundaries were within Laikipia.
