Nyandarua residents protest rising insecurity

Residents of Mairo-Inya township in Nyandarua County on Wednesday took to the streets to protest the rising cases of insecurity that have seen three people killed in the last two weeks under unclear circumstances.

According to the residents, a woman was murdered on Tuesday while a boda boda operator was murdered last Friday and no arrest has been made.

Ndaragwa parliamentary aspirant Moses Ndegwa, who was  arrested and locked up at Nyahururu Police Station during the demonstrations, said there is a need to transfer the police officers in the area arguing that most of them had overstayed the area.

Nyandarua North OCPD, Timon Odhiambo Odingo, said that the deaths were being investigated and called upon the residents to also help the police with crucial information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
