Nyandarua to allocate Ksh 85 million to bursary kitty

Over 7,000 learners from Nyandarua County have befitted from the county’s bursary funds kitty in the 2015/2016 Financial Year.

According to the County Executive Committee member (CEC) in charge of Education, Culture and Social Services Peter Macharia, the county administration disbursed over Ksh 65 million to help support the needy children in accessing education.

He said the county government will increase the allocation to Ksh 85 million in the 2016/17 fiscal year to help more students access education.

Macharia observed that the awarding of the bursaries does not discriminate levels of education as learners from primary school to universities receive bursaries.

The CEC was speaking at Weru Secondary School during a ceremony to issue cheques worth Ksh 4 million to learners from Ol-Joro Orok Sub County.
