Nyandarua to plant 10 million trees in five years

Nyandarau County has revealed that it intends to plant 10 million trees in the next five years contrary to other counties planting 5 million trees in the next five years.

Speaking in Gatimu Ward, Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia said that the county has a strategic plan to plant 2 million trees every year to make sure that 10 million trees are planted in five years.

Mr. Kimemia said that each district will receive a lorry of seedlings and residents will be grouped to ensure that the plan is efficient and effective.

This comes a few days after the Deputy president William Ruto spoke in Ol-jororok saying that the government is ready to protect and conserve the environment by planting  130 million trees by the year 2022.
