Nyenze’s widow wins Kitui West seat

Edith Nyenze has won the Kitui West Parliamentary seat beating her opponents with over 70 percent of the total votes cast.

Mrs. Nyenze, who vied under a Wiper Party ticket, garnered 14,372 votes.

Her closest rival, Mr. Denis Mulwa, an independent candidate, came a distant second with only 2,046 votes.

The seat fell vacant after MP Francis Nyenze died on December 6 last year after a long illness.

He was also the minority leader of the 11th Parliament.
