Nyeri Hotels Still Empty Despite Influx of Visitors

The Managers dismissed some media reports that the rooms had been fully booked ahead of the historic function.

They said that many hotels have registered low bookings despite the high influx of catholic faithful in the Mt Kenya town.

“We have very many idle room for anyone looking for accommodation,” said Mr Benson Muriuki, a hotel manager.

Another manager, Philip Mbugua, says that they are not aware of any rooms’ shortages in the county and that most hotels are not booked yet.

“We are usually booked up to 80% or 90% every weekend, today, we only have 40% bookings,” said another hotel manager Stanely Njue.

Reports indicate that there will be at least 200,000 visitors in Nyeri county during the beatification of Sister Nyaatha.
