NYS looking for new suppliers

The National Youth Service (NYS) has invited suppliers and service providers to register afresh to supply goods and services to the institution for a two year period.

In a statement sent to newsrooms, the embattled agency says the official notice calling out the new suppliers will be published in Wednesday’s daily newspapers.

According to the statement, all current suppliers are required to apply afresh for consideration.

This comes after Public Service CS Prof. Margaret Kobia last week cancelled all pending bills amounting to Ksh.5.6 billion from 2013 to 2017.

The CS promised the major changes when she introduced new Director General, Ms. Matilda Sakwa as well as a new crop of procurement officers to the institution.

“As we stand here today, welcoming the (new) Director General, I want to assure Kenyans that National Youth Service (scandal) III will not happen under our watch,” said Kobia during the unveiling.

Suppliers are now required to download registration documents from the National Treasury website and tender their applications with mandatory qualification documents.

Deadline for the applications has been set for July 29, 2018.
