NYS scandal: PS Omollo wants to be moved from KNH

Lawyers representing Youth PS Lillian Omollo are expected to file an application to have her moved from the Kenyatta National Hospital to one of her choice.

The move comes hours after it was revealed that the 41-year-old fainted on Tuesday night at the Lang’ata Women’s Prison.

She and other female suspects were to remain in police custody as they wait for the court ruling on on June 6 over their bail application.

The Milimani Chief Magistrate made the ruling for all the 20 suspects on Tuesday night after a prolonged courtroom session that took over 12 hours.

The magistrate adjourned the hearing at 1am and that is when Omollo and other suspects were moved to police cells.

This was despite Defense lawyers arguing that their clients did not pose any risk to witnesses in the ongoing NYS corruption case.

The male suspects who include National Youth Service (NYS) boss Richard Ndubai are at the Industrial Area Remand Prison.
