NYS scandal suspect PS Lillian Omollo sacked

Embattled Youth Affairs Principal Secretary Lillian Omollo who is embroiled in the National Youth Service scandal has been sent home.

In a mini reshuffle that affected the Cabinet, Chief Administrative Secretaries and Permanent Secretaries, President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed Mr. Francis Otieno Owino as PS State Department of Youth.

Omollo, who was a Principal Secretary for two and a half years, is currently out on bail after she was charged over the alleged loss of Ksh.9 billion at NYS.

PS Omollo and NYS Director General Richard Ndubai are facing several charges among them Conspiracy to commit an offence of economic crime.

Lillian Wanja Muthoni Mbogo Omollo, 44, came into the public sector after ten years of working with international organisations.

Omollo took over from Peter Mangiti who was sacked by President Uhuru Kenyatta following the Ksh.791million scam. He was later acquitted in one of the cases.
