Obama to hold public address during his visit State House

State House spokesman Manoah Esipisu has revealed plans that will see US President Barack Obama hold a public address when he visits Kenya next week.

In his weekly briefing held on Sunday, Esipisu said that arrangements are in place for Obama to address the nation at the Safaricom Sports Complex Kasarani on Sunday.

Though details of his visit remain scanty, Esipisu said that the US President and President Uhuru Kenyatta will co-host the Global Entrepreneurship Summit at Gigiri on Saturday and later hold bilateral talks at State House in Nairobi.

“On Saturday, President Kenyatta and President Obama will co-host the Global Entrepreneurship Summit at the UN compound in Gigiri, and later hold bilateral talks at State House Nairobi.”

“These talks, as many of you are now aware, will be followed by a joint news conference from the iconic site”.

He said President Kenyatta will address the nation on Tuesday ahead of Obama’s visit.

Esipisu further noted that Kenya and United States have enjoyed a long history of traditionally strong friendship and partnership, saying “the two leaders will look to build on this during President Obama’s visit.”

Obama is expected in the country this week for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit slated for July 24 to 26, 2015.
