ODM Accuses Deputy President William Ruto of Massive Land Grabbing

In a statement, the party chair John Mbadi said the deputy president's name keep popping up in several corruption allegations adding that he should carry his own cross.

“Kenyans are carrying a heavy load of corruption. One name that keeps coming up in most of the cases of fraud, corruption, theft of public land , division of public funds and violation of procurement and tender rules that if Deputy President Mr William Ruto,” read the statement signed off by party chair John Mbadi.

Commenting on the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital tender deal against Ruto, the party stated that the deputy president hijacked the project and inflated the cost.

“Yesterday, the DP said he has no apology to make over the scam at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret where he is accused of hijacking the procurement process and infiltration the bill before trying to divert the funds to set up a personal institution,” read the statement.

The party accused Ruto for alleged involvement in the grabbing of Langata Primary School playground and the adjacent plot belonging to the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCCA) where Weston Hotel stands.

They also accused the deputy president of grabbing the Kenya Pipeline lands in Nairobi and Prisons land in Upper Hill and Processional Way in Nairobi.

ODM also accused Ruto of blaming Raila Odinga for Jubilee’s troubles adding that he should take responsibility for both the success and failures of a nation.

“Two year’s ago Jubilee senators blamed Prof Anyang Nyongo for the plans to upgrade MTRH. Yesterday, Ruto blamed Raila Odinga. The other days Jubilee were blaming newspapers for their woes.”

“Ruto has to realize that leadership involves taking responsibility for both the successes and failures of a nation,” he said.

The statement came a day after the deputy president accused Cord leader Raila Odinga for sending cronies to launch baseless allegation against him stating that he should “keep off him.”
