ODM blames delays in nominations voting on materials mix-up

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) National Elections Board has blamed the delayed voting in some parts of Busia County on a mix up in the delivery of nomination materials in Teso North and Teso South.

ODM Director of Communications, Philip Etale, has, however, assured the party’s supporters that the hitch has been sorted out and voting will continue as planned in the party’s nominations in Busia, Bungoma and Machakos Counties.

Busia Governor, Sospeter Ojaamong, who is facing stiff rivalry from Funyula Member of Parliament, Paul Otuoma, for the Busia ODM Governor’s ticket had raised worries over the fairness of the ODM nominations due to delayed arrival of voting materials in some polling stations.

Ojaamong has further accused Jubilee Party of funding the campaigns of his opponent to ensure he is not re-elected.

But Otuoma, who was speaking at Bumula Police Station in Butula Constituency, where he had gone to record a statement over leaflets circulating in the county claiming that he has defected to Jubilee Party, has already dismissed the claims.
