ODM chair Mbadi, Nyatike MP engage in a heated verbal altercation

Nyatike Member of Parliament Edick Omondi Anyanga has told ODM party chairman, John Mbadi to respect him claiming that the party chairman has been making statements that demean him and his political ambition.

Speaking to Citizen Digital over the phone, Mr Anyanga said the remarks made by the party chairman on Friday at Rapogi in Uriri Sub County, Migori County over party nominations ostensibly referred to him, further urging Mr Mbadi to keep off Migori politics.

In his remarks at Rapogi, Mr Mbadi is reported to have said that an area Member of Parliament in Migori County has been interfering with the party nomination since 2007, adding that Nyatike Constituency must have free and fair nominations next year.

This inference by Mbadi has angered Anyanga who is now accusing the party chairman of working with his opponents to kill his political ambition.

The furious Nyatike MP said the party chairman is mandated to unite ODM legislators for a common goal that can make party leader Raila Odinga win the highest seat in the country and not engaging in blow up fights with fellow MPs who do not bow to him.

The legislator added that he would only pledge his loyalty to ODM as a party and party leader Raila Odinga and not any other person.

The verbal attack between Nyatike Member of Parliament Mr Edick Anyanga and party chairman Mr John Mbadi comes a few weeks after Odinga urged leaders from Nyanza region to stop political showdowns among themselves saying that it’s likely to interfere with his presidential ambitions.
