ODM chief wants CORD to field joint candidates

Kakamega Governor, Wycliffe Oparanya, has urged the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) affiliate parties to hold joint nominations to select a single opposition candidate in every elective seat.

This, he says, will enable the coalition face the ruling Jubilee coalition in a more organized way when Kenyans go to the ballot on August 8, 2017.

Oparanya, who is also the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) deputy party leader, says the move will ensure the opposition emerges victorious in the polls.

Addressing residents of Khwisero Constituency where he launched various development projects, Oparanya warned that he will campaign for ODM party if the affiliate parties fail to hold joint nominations.
