ODM Chooses New Party Leaders

The chosen leaders are awaiting approval by the party’s National Governing Council.

Raila Odinga was chosen the party leader, Mombasa County Governor, Ali Hassan Joho and his Kakamega counter part Wycliffe Oparanya were chosen as his deputies.

Budalangi Member of Parliament Ababu Namwamba was chosen the party’s secretary general, with nominated senators Elizabeth Ongoro and Agnes Zani as his deputies.

John Mbadi was chosen the party’s chair, with Josephat Nanok as his first deputy, Paul Otuoma his second deputy, Adan Keynan his third and Christine Lemein as his fourth deputy.

Timothy Bosire was chosen to be the party’s treasurer.

Abdi Kadir Aden is the new organizing secretary and George Aladwa his deputy.

The meeting in Naivasha was aimed at reconciling warring factions within the party to share power instead of going to repeat polls after the embattled polls earlier in 2014.
