ODM Demands More Time For Homabay Nominations

ODM MPs now want the electoral body, IEBC to extend the period candidates are expected to present their nomination papers for the Homabay by-election.

The MPs want the date delayed to allow political parties carry out proper nominations.

.The by election to replace Otieno Kajwang is slated for 2nd february 2015.

IEBC has set 5th and 6th January 2015 as the date for presenting nomination papers.

The MPs were speaking during a news conference convened by ODM chairman and Suba Mp John Mbadi.

The ODM party officials claimed the period for nomination is short and has inconvenienced the party.

They said that the period provided for party nomination would not ensure free and fair election

The Homabay Senate seat fell vacant after the death of Otieno Kajwang on November 18 2014.
