ODM Disciplinary Committee On Magerer Begins Probe

A section of ODM MCA’s who roughed up Magerer at orange house appeared before the committee which led by Fred Athuok at the party’s headquarters.

Majority leader of the Nairobi county assembly Elias Otieno who is among those who allegedly assaulted Magerer has however maintained his stance that Magerer is not loyal to the opposition party.

This comes after the ODM national executive committee –NEC- formed the task-force to probe the ejection of Magerer at orange house by Nairobi MCAs over claims that he is a Jubilee mole.

While announcing the decision to probe the matter, party’s Secretary General Prof. Anyang Nyong'o said the decision was aimed at suppressing violence in the party.

‘‘We have to ensure that this does not happen again and that is a message we will pass when we meet on Tuesday, Nyong’o added.

ODM’s Executive Director Magerer Lagat was beaten up and ejected from the Parliamentary Group meeting over 2 weeks ago after his pronouncement that ODM is dead and that the party leader should resign.

The angry ODM supporters accused Langat of being a Jubilee Coalition mole who aims at wrecking the party.

However, party leader Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka condemned the act terming it as unacceptable.

The Athuok led committee now says that Magerer is expected to appear before the task force tomorrow.

Also summoned to appear before the committee is nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro.
