ODM Elections All Set For Friday

3,052 delegates from 47 counties and 210 constituencies are expected to start arriving in the city for tomorrow's elections

 

Two factions have emerged in the run down to the party poll.

 

One of the line-up is led by Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba who is eyeing the Secretary General position and Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho gunning for the Deputy Party Leader.

 

This line-up consists of Aden Keynan who has declared interest in the Vice-Chairman seat, Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok for the National Chairman position, Bomachoge MP Simon Ogari for the National Treasurer positiont, Rose Akinyi Buyu and Stella Koech who will be battling out for the position of ODM organizing Secretary.

 

The other line-up earlier thought to be the preferred line-up is made up of Dr Agnes Zani who is eyeing Secretary General position and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya who wants the Deputy Party leader's slot.

 

Other members in the line-up are Funyula lawmaker Paul Otuoma(Chairmanship), Homabay Senator Otieno Kajwang (Deputy Chairman).

 

Outgoing ODM Secretary General Anyang Nyong’o together with the National Elections Board have assured party members that the elections would be free and fair.

 

The elections will be held at Kasarani Gymnasium tomorrow, Friday and Saturday.
