ODM Elections To Be Conducted Through Secret Ballot

The party's National Elections Board has dismissed reports claiming that the system would not be used during the poll.

The announcement was made by the outgoing Secretary General Anyang Nyongo accompanied with NEB chairperson Judith Pareno at the party headquarters.

Nyongo assured all those eyeing various positions that the elections would be free and fair.

The elections to be held at Kasarani Gymnasium are slated for Friday and Saturday.

Nyong'o added that it will be upon the delegates gathered at the Gymnasium to decide whether to create more positions to accomodate losers in the party to avert a possible fallout.

The proposal for additional positions was approved by the party's National Governing Council.

The two leaders added that the list of delegates expected to take part in the poll would not be altered as claimed by a section of candidates.

On Tuesday, ODM leader Raila Odinga met 47 county chairpersons to forestall divisions over the proposed new leadership structure even as cracks widened on the method of election and delegates register.
