ODM MPs Want Chirchir Out Over ‘Chicken Scam’

The leaders want Chirchir to step aside over the alleged chicken scam in the disbanded Interim Independent Electoral Commission.

Ugunja MP James Wandayi, nominated MP Isaac Mwaura, Westlands legislator Timothy Wanyonyi and Taita Taveta County Women Representative Joyce Lei have threatened to file a censure motion against the CS if he doesn't step aside.

Speaking to the media at Parliament Buildings today, the MPs said they will petition the president to fire Chirchir to pave way for investigations into the alleged scam.

Chirchir was a commissioner in the former electoral body, I.I.E.C.

Several former commissioners with IIEC have been cited in a United Kingdom case of allegedly receiving kickbacks from British firm Smith and Ouzman to award the firm with contracts.
