ODM concludes party primaries in Narok county

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party primaries in Narok County were concluded at around 5am Sunday morning, with Ledama Ole Kina clinching the ODM senatorial ticket for the county after garnering 45,584 votes against his only rival a last minute entrant Tom Sirere Maitai, who got 10,301 votes.

Rebecca Tonkei clinched the party’s ticket for the Woman Representative seat after getting 45,479 votes, while Eunice Marima and Pauline Kinyalkuo came a distant second and third with 5,674 and 4,592 votes respectively.

Oiboo Peter Morintat will now face other Kilgoris parliamentary seat aspirants in the coming August polls after winning the hotly contested ODM Party ticket with 24,805 votes. Mr Oiboo’s closest challenger, Joseph Ole Siparo, got 13,366 votes while Elijah Ole Sikona came a distant third with only 299 votes.

Kerimpot Ole Sadera and Kasisi Alex Karia will now vie for Oleleshwa and Ildamat ward seats respectively on ODM Party tickets.

Mr Kerimpot managed to get 1,964 while Mr Alex Karia got 2,199 votes, in an exercise that saw high voter turnout.
