ODM ‘rebels’ criticize Raila Odinga over KDF remarks

A section of defected Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) politicians have urged Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader Raila Odinga to stop criticizing the government on the move to withdraw Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) from South Sudan.

Led by ODM defected MP Samuel Arama and his Borabu counterpart Ben Momanyi, the politicians said that it was wrong for Raila to continue criticizing the government of the day all the time.

“You cannot oppose everything every time. There’s nothing the government of the day does that Raila supports,” said Arama the Nakuru West MP.

Arama asked why Raila opposed the withdrawal of KDF troops from Somalia, pointing out that the former PM had initially backed the withdrawal of troops.

The politicians were reacting to Raila’s November 10 statement where the Opposition leader accused  Uhuru of making the decision out of anger and without due consultation.

“Why Raila should be consulted?” asked a puzzled Arama.

The President made the order in protest to the sacking of Lt Gen Johnson Ondieki who was the head of UN forces in South Sudan.
