ODM supporters warned against supporting the independents

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) delegates from Siaya County have now been urged to unite behind the party’s nominees for various elective posts to ensure they win all seats during the forthcoming General Election.

South Gem Member of County Assembly, Peter Lolwe Ombee, who is also the ODM nominee for the region, said that it will be very shameful if other parties or independent candidates beat ODM in Siaya County.

He has called on the delegates to put aside their differences and embrace maximum humility with a view to persuade their opponents’ supporters to join them so that ODM can win all seats in Siaya County.

Mr. Ombee took issue with those who defected from ODM to run as independent candidates for various elective posts, stating that they seem to have not been genuine members of ODM.

The county representative wondered why genuine party members can decide to decamp at this time when ODM leader Raila Odinga is running for the presidency.

He warned the electorates to be cautious with the defectors, noting that they seem to have a negative agenda for Mr. Odinga’s presidential quest.
