ODM to hold Kisumu repeat primaries on Tuesday

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) National Elections Board says it will conduct repeat nominations for the Kisumu Central parliamentary seat on Tuesday, May 16.

The board says the exercise will run from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm and will only be for the Member of Parliament position.

This comes a day after the High Court ordered the orange party to repeat the nomination within 72 hours, following a successful petition filed by former TNA Secretary General, Onyango Oloo.

Oloo argued that the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal erred in law when it dismissed his case challenging the nomination of Fred Odhiambo over cases of irregularities.

He  further claimed that the nomination exercise was marred with irregularities and moved to the High Court after the Tribunal dismissed his case.

ODM, Returning Officer Laban Bosire, Fred Odhiambo, Ken Obura and the Kisumu Central Constituency Election Panel have been named as respondents in the case.
