ODM was just a vehicle to Parliament Chidzuga

Kwale County Women Representatives Zainab Chidzuga has claimed that she does not regret working with Jubilee administration saying her interest is to better the lives of the people of Kwale.

Speaking in Msambweni on Monday, Chidzuga said that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) was merely a vehicle for her to get to Parliament noting that her decision to work with the government was to the benefit of her constituents.

“You should be concerned if I quit on you but not a party which does not even belong to us. ODM was just a vehicle to take me to parliament and now that am in, the important thing is to help my constituents,” she said.

“When I was sworn in I pledged to work with the government and protect the Constitution. We will form a party that reflects the face of Coast region and when we do, the party will work with the government and not the opposition.”

Chidzuga was among three MPs from Coast who have shown affiliation with Jubilee, attracting the wrath of CORD.

The Kwale legislator was on the receiving end this week after he allegedly stated that CORD leader Raila Odinga would not make it to State House.

She has, however, stated that she does not need ODM to defend her seat.

Other Coast legislators who have shown dissent are Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro and Lunga Lunga MP Khatib Mwashetani (Ford Kenya).
