ODM’s ‘Rebels’ Rubbish Suspension Threats

Mbita Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo scoffed at threats by the party to suspend members perceived as not royal to the party.

The legislator termed the threats as an insult to democracy saying that ODM should not use dictatorial rules on its members.

She criticised plans by the party National Chairman John Mbadi to initiate disciplinary measures against legislators allied to the party, who did not campaign for the party’s candidate in the Homa Bay senatorial by-election.

The outspoken legislator accused Mbadi of ploting to drive a wedge between the ODM party leaders and the legislators who have been accused of paying allegiance to the party line.

She said that ODM Parliamentarians would not be intimidated by a clique of legislators who she claimed do not have the best interest of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and the party at heart.

Millie is accusing Mbadi, and MPs Peter Kaluma and Gladys Wanga for being behind the scheme which she says could deal a serious blow to the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD).

Earlier on, ODM leader Raila Odinga supported Mbadi‘s plans to suspend rebels in the party.
