Officer Dead, Several Injured In Garissa Accident

The police officer died on the spot during the 1PM accident that occured a few kilometers away from Garissa town.

The injured officers were attached to the Mandera East sub county.

Among those critically injured was Mandera East OCPD Ekai Maruk who is to be airlifted to Nairobi for further treatment.

According to Enock Matoke, a survivor of the accident, the vehicle veered off the road and rolled several times.

Nursing officer in charge of the Garissa County Referral Hospital Hassan Abdullahi confirmed receiving the casualties terming the OCPD's condition as critical.

He said majority of the officers sustained head and limb injuries while the other officer died of internal injuries.
