Officers In Kiambu Transferred Over Theft

The officers were moved with immediate effect after the story was aired by Inooro FM.

 

Police are currently gathering evidence to enable them convict the suspected officer believed alleged to be behind the theft of the 300 pipes.

 

The officer went into hiding after learning that he was being sought over the alleged theft. 

 

Kiambu residents claimed that the officer was behind the theft of the pipes that were secured at Njunu police post in Kanunga.

 

The residents claimed that the pipes were disappearing from the police post and blamed the officers at the Njunu police post

 

Led by Ndumberi Member of County Assembly Ngugi Uiru, the residents called for the shut down of the police post.

 

They also demanded the transfer of the officers who have been manning the post.

 

The stolen pipes were later discovered at a deserted home in Kirigiti almost 20 kilometers from the police post.

 

Police ferried them to the Kiambu Police Station.

 

Gitau Kanyeki, the head of internal affairs at the National Police Service Commission said that the matter will be dealt with and asked members of the public to give crucial information
