OKOA Kenya Starts Signatures Collection Drive

Odinga has instead asked President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration to let Kenyans decide through a national referendum if they want issues being fronted by governors and CORD addressed.

The former premier was speaking during unveiling of CORD’s OKOA Kenya movement offices in Nairobi.

During the launch, OKOA’s chair Paul Mwangi announced collection of a million signatures to back the referendum starts countrywide on Saturday.

Odinga is expected to lead the exercise in Migori County as his co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka does the same in Embakasi and Moses Wetangula in western Kenya, before spreading countrywide.

This comes just two days after 20 governors from TNA dropped the referendum push saying it was ill timed.

The governors noted that although the quest was noble, it had been hijacked by the Opposition.

They further added that they would use alternative ways to have this issue addressed.
