Omanga causes drama at NCIC offices for being kept waiting too long VIDEO

Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga on Monday caused drama at the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) headquarters, where she had honoured summons, claiming she was kept waiting for too long.

Omanga was among 10 politicians recently summoned by the commission to appear before it on allegations of fueling political violence during the recently concluded by-elections in Matungu and Kabuchai constituencies.

The legislator arrived at the offices a few minutes to 11am and stormed the boardroom about an hour later when Kasipul Member of Parliament Charles Were, who had been the first to arrive, was still being quizzed.

According to Omanga, however, the commission had, in its summons, requested her to arrive at 11am hence she did not appreciate being kept waiting.

The Nominated Senator felt that NCIC should not have summoned all the politicians to appear at the same time, and that each of them should have been allocated their own time frame to avoid inconveniences.

“We have been seated there for the last one hour…for how long? You should’ve given us timelines, if you told me (to come) 12pm I would’ve come here at 12pm…but you told me (to come) at 11am…so if you knew you were taking an hour or two for every member, you should’ve calculated and given me my time…it is so unfair,” she said.

Other leaders that have since also honoured the summons included MPs Feisal Bader (Msambweni), Benjamin Washiali (Mumias East), and Chris Wamalwa (Kiminini).
