Omar Boga, who lost in Msambweni by-election, lands State appointment

Omar Boga, the ODM Party candidate who lost in the Msambweni parliamentary by-election in December last year, has been appointed Chairperson of the Coast Water Works Development Agency.

The appointment was made by Water Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki in a Gazette Notice dated February 26, 2021.

Boga will hold the position for a period of three years.

“IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 66 (1) of the Water Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Water and Sanitation appoints—
OMAR BOGA to be Chairperson of the Coast Water Works Development Agency, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 26th February, 2021,” reads the notice.

Boga lost in the by-election to independent candidate Feisal Bader, an ally of Deputy President William Ruto who garnered 15,251 votes. Boga came second after garnering 10,444 votes.
