Omar Boga wins ODM ticket for Msambweni by-election

Omar Idd Boga is the winner of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party primaries for the Msambweni By-election.

Boga garnered 6,183 votes against his competitor Nicholas Stephen Zani who garnered 530 votes.

Boga served as the Member of County Assembly for Gombato\Bongwe ward in 2013-2017 and vied for Msambweni Parliamentary seat in 2017 elections but lost to Ramadhan Suleiman Dori who died in March this year after a short battle with cancer.

ODM is the only party that  has so far conducted nominations to pick its flag bearer in the by-election as Jubilee pulled out of the race.

Other candidates eyeing the seat are Feisal Abdallah Bader (independent), Shehe Mahmoud Abdulrahman (Wiper), Sharlet Mariam Akinyi (independent), Hamisi Mwakaonje (United Green Movement Party), Charles Bilali (independent) among others.
