One dead, ten injured in Salama accident

One person has died and more than ten others injured following an accident that occurred Saturday morning a few Kilometers away from Salama along Mombasa-Nairobi highway.

The accident involved four vehicles. According to Salama traffic commandant Joseph Nyasili, a lorry that was transporting potatoes from Nairobi hit a trailer that was ferrying plastic faucets from Mombasa head on. The driver of the trailer died on the spot.

This accident comes just two days after seven people perished in another accident that involved a matatu and a trailer a kilometer away.

The injured are receiving treatment in Sultan Hamud hospital.
